Tonight Momma Whiting treated Liz and I to a performance by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and it was absolutely phenomenal! They performed a selection of 3 Beethoven pieces and played they beautifully. I definitely want to keep coming to see the DSO perform in the future!

We got an apartment today!! This place is absolutely beautiful and fits in our price range perfectly. Our little place (Unit 113, this one!) is a 2 bed 1.5 bath with a full kitchen of appliances and a fireplace (yeah-buddy!) and is pet friendly so we can bring little Sadie-bug and Socksford. This place is just awesome and we can't wait to move in! We get the keys on Oct 8th and we're so excited! BEEYAH!!

Me and Liz have been house hunting for that last day or so and this is one of the little houses that I found this afternoon while I was roaming around Abilene looking at properties. I thought it was a pretty cute little house and liked it but was in a kinda sketchy neighborhood and wasn't offered by an actual realtor so yeah...

Here's little Tom. He's the little dude that hangs around the Quarters apartments and comes and visits everyone. He's really nice and loving and will come up to you and just say hi. I put some food out for him but he got really paranoid and I guess didn't like the food so he didn't stick around for very long.

So this concert was last night but I had already put a picture up for Thursday and I really liked this picture so here it is a day later! Last night me and Lee and his lady friend went to watch Zach Kerzee and his band play a free show at the Orthodox church here in town and it was super awesome. This is a pic of the three of them getting ready for the next song. You should definitely go and see them perform sometime, they're great!

So this afternoon while I was working in the MSG office for a little while, Megan Thomas started freaking out and I went in to her office to see what was the matter and this stuff she was using to take her fake nails off had eaten it's way through the styrofoam bowl she was using and leaked out all over the place. Well we both got really intrigued and starting playing around with this stuff (100% acetone) and melted another bowl and tried to melt an aluminum can. This stuff was WEIRD! And seeing how it ate through the cup like nobody's business really made me wonder why you would want to put your hand in that junk!

So this is an artist's (mine) rendition of me getting to meet Blake Mycoskie, the founder of Toms Shoes. The funny thing about this drawing is not that the picture got accidently deleted, but that I never got to meet him. :( You see I went to the chapel at ACU when he spoke to their campus, and I was covering it for the Tribe Tribune, and I left the notebook I was going to take notes with in the car. So once we met up with Jason, and Katie, I left to go back to my car to get the little notebook. Well when I got back Zach and Walper were freaking out and going bananas about something and I couldn't figure it out at first. Turns out that when I left, they started mingling around and found Blake just chilling in the front of the auditorium and got to talk to him and take pictures with him. While I was getting my notebook in the car I missed out on a sweet chance to meet Blake, creep on him (take a picture with him) and ask him a quick question for my article (which would have up-ed the legitness of it about 1 billion percent). Man, so lame...

As we were alone meditating on the mountain the thought occurred to me that I could probably see the hill where I found God and glanced over to my right just a tad and there it was! It isn't much. It isn't pretty. But it's the most beautiful hill in the world to me. As all the memories of God's love that washed over me that day came back and all the memories of where He's led me in the 4 years since then came flooding back I noticed that the song playing on my ipod at the time was just amazing. Curious to see what this song that was capturing the essence of this moment so perfectly I looked at the screen and the song playing at that exact moment was "Happiness: We're In This Together" by This Will Destroy You. I just couldn't believe how perfect this song that was playing was and just started crying at the beauty of the moment and the realization that God has never and will never abandon me or any of His children, and that is more amazing a feeling than words can describe.

This is a view of the park behind the place Liz and I have chosen to hold our after-wedding reception. It is so beautiful (just not as beautiful as Liz of course) and we both cannot wait to get to decorate the place and have all of our friends over to celebrate our marriage with us in this beautiful place!

Yeah I don't even know what this thing is. At all. No clue. But whatever it was it was right in front of me today on my way to Anson to do youth tonight. This thing was giant! I don't know if you can tell but that thing on the left hand side of the picture is a truck running off the road because this beast took up the entire road. Literally.
But this is one of the things that I really love(d) about being in small towns, is the random stuff that you wont see anywhere else.
